I've been thinking about upgrading my ultra-compact "take everywhere" camera. The Fuji Z5 is nice, but everything is automatic, which can be a pain sometimes. I picked up a Nikon P5100 from Memory Express to try it out: reviews are iffy, stating slow focusing time as an issue.

This is true, and because of that and the noise at all ISO levels, I'm returning it.

That's not the story: the issue is that at Memory Express, I was told that this was the last one and that it had never been used, just put under glass for display.

I found pictures of some guy at the Memory Express digital camera counter on the camera when I got it home.

Here is the message I left on the camera as a picture:
This camera was opened, the battery charged, and

demonstrated in the store. Memory Express lied to

me, saying the camera had only been on display but

never used. I found pictures of the inside of the

store already on the camera. I returned it to

Memory Express...

Did they lie to you too?

The claim that the video contained herein actually represents the 1989 Tim Burton Batman movie's original trailer is dubious, but this video compares scenes of the trailer for "The Dark Knight" (2008) with scenes from "Batman" (1989).

So, the R2-D2 projector is more awesome than I'd thought. It actually rolls around remotely and stuff. Check out the video!

Remember the Armatron? No? Well, that's probably because you weren't a nerd child in the early 80s.

Manly things that are no longer manly.
Tattoos:
Granted, there are still those older men who got tattoos back when they actually meant something, but they are a dying breed in the face of this new wave of tattooed douchebaggery - the men who were getting inked back in the day are forced to watch, horrified, as an entire generation of neo-yuppies singlehandedly steals one of their generational symbols and perverts it beyond all recognition.

Did you know there's a Bulgarian Music Idol? Did you know Michael Jackson performed "Bad" on it? Did you know it was the most awful thing in the world?

A 7 year old girl jumped in front of her mom and took 6 bullets to save her mom's life. She survived and had this heart-wrenching thing to say:
"I saved my mom," she said and added she loved her mother a lot and didn't want to see her get hurt.

Woman stabs her daughter because she thought she was possessed.

Now the controversial question: would this have happened if Mommy Stabberson wasn't brought up with religion?

If you've seen the movie "Cube", you may know it was based on a short film called "The Cube". A while ago I found a crappy black and white copy of it and thought it was older than it really is.

"The Cube" is available in colour, so check it out now if you've never seen it.

Also, I had no idea it was by Jim Henson!

Truck Bearing Kibble is one of the best webcomics I've ever seen. The link starts you off at the beginning. It is similar to Perry Bible Fellowship in quality and humour.

Fine acting in this trailer for "Zombie Strippers". You must see how the following lines are delivered:

What seems to be the problem?

Believe it or not, zombies.
and...
But what about the girls, huh? They're good girls.

They're zombies!

No. They're strippers.

They're zombie strippers. <cocks shotgun>

I was the 69,881st person to sign the petition to stop Uwe Boll from making any more movies. If the article is to be believed, he was told of the petition and how it had 18,000 signatures already. He said he'd stop if it had one million signatures.

Do your part to rid the world of the director of such crapfests as "Alone in the Dark", "Bloodrayne", and "Postal" (all adaptations of video games).

Thanks be to Sheky for this link.
